GEDI

NU Manila, through the College of Education, Arts, and Sciences (CEAS), spearheaded the Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (GEDI) Institutional Launch and Awareness Workshops, officially introducing the University’s GEDI Committee and reaffirming its commitment to an inclusive and equitable academic community.

The program opened with remarks from Ms. Ma. Reina Rose D. Gulmatico, RN, MSN, Assistant Vice President for Academic Services, followed by the plenary session, “Advancing GEDI in Higher Education: Building a GEDI-Responsive University,” led by Diana Lee Tracy K. Chan, LPT, PhD. The session highlighted the importance of integrating GEDI principles into institutional policies, programs, and practices to foster a safe, respectful, and supportive learning and working environment.

Dr. Leo S. Del Rosario, Chair of the GEDI Committee and Dean of CEAS, introduced the University’s GEDI framework, strategic priorities, and initiatives promoting equal opportunities, mutual respect, and a culture of belonging.

The program also featured GEDI ConverSessions, specialized workshops that encouraged dialogue and collaboration on inclusive teaching and learning, leadership commitment, safe spaces, and student support services. These sessions empowered participants to champion equity and inclusion within their respective roles.

Through this initiative, NU Manila reaffirmed their commitment to embedding inclusivity, fairness, and respect in the University’s culture and practices, working toward a more compassionate and GEDI-responsive academic community.
